Hell Llama Productions was formed in April 2004 when Gabe had a film idea and also decided he wanted to use it for a class he was in. He wanted to get it done quickly before he had to give back the badass camera he was using. A call went out to his Bay Area friends and they rushed to get together for the filming of "Drive".

They gathered that weekend at Kristie and Jason's apartment in Tamalpais Valley and filmed the movie in that single weekend. Gabe cracked a joke about how he wanted to use "hell llama" for something because the 4 l's looked cool. Somehow, it turned into the name of a production house for films made by this group of freaks.

After all, we couldn't possibly take ourselves seriously.

A photo of NAPT was the basis for our logo. We decided to have him riding a llama. Thus, Hell Llama Productions, as you know it, was born.
